Gadget Cover 

Can I cover my gadgets while I’m on my trip?

When purchasing your travel insurance, ensure you have cover for your gadgets in case they are lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed while you’re away. 


We offer a gadget cover add on which covers smartphones, as well as tablets, laptops, SATNAVS, PDA’s and handheld gaming consoles giving you up to £1,000 protection against theft, damage or loss while on your trip.

When you add the cover to your insurance policy please be aware that the benefit is per policy and not per person and deductions for wear and tear may be applied at point of claim. 


If you lose your phone/tablet or if it’s stolen make sure you contact your service provider as soon as you notice so they’re able to discontinue the service for your device and keep your personal information safe.


Cruise cover

Can I purchase cruise cover? 

We offer cruise cover as standard on all of our policies. In addition to our standard cover, you can also add protection against cruise specific risks to ensure you are thoroughly protected on your travels. 

 

Our tailored cruise policy add on covers you for specific risks such as missed connections, unused excursions and cabin confinement. 

 

We offer increased protection for your cruise holidays by insuring the cost of connecting to your cruise if your arrival is delayed up to £1,500. We will cover you for any additional travel and accommodation costs incurred to join your cruise if your arrival is delayed or you have to disembark due to illness. And we will also cover additional costs in getting home if you miss your port due to illness.

 

Unused excursions are covered up to £300. We cover the cost of any pre-booked excursions that you are unable to take due to illness, delay or an unscheduled change to the cruise itinerary.


Our Cruise cover add on will also cover you for cabin confinement up to £300. We will pay you £50 for each complete day that you are confined to your cabin on medical advice.

Golf Cover 

 

Can I add golf cover to my policy?

If you’re planning a golfing holiday or you’re simply planning one day on the green while you’re away, make sure you’re protected. 

 

We offer a golf cover add on which can be added to your Single Trip or Annual Multi Trip policy to ensure that you can enjoy playing golf without having to worry. 

 

Our golf add on covers:  

 

  • Protecting your personal or hired golf equipment from theft, loss of damage up to £1,000 (maximum of £250 per item). This includes your clubs, balls, bag, trolley, golf shoes and clothing.
  • Cost of hiring replacement golf equipment due to accidental loss, delay, theft or damage of your own kit up to £300.
  • Loss of green fees up to £375. 
  • We even cover the customary round of drinks to celebrate getting a hole in one, up to £100.

Business Travel Extension Upgrade 

Why do I need business travel insurance?

If you are planning to travel abroad for work, then you will need to make sure that you have travel insurance in place so that you are protected for your trip. 

 

We offer a business travel extension add on which can be added to your policy to give you protection for your trip.

 

Our business travel extension covers:

  

  • Your business equipment is covered if it is lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed. Providing cover to hire replacement equipment. This includes laptop computers and other accessories, as well as goods, samples or other articles.
  • Cover is provided for additional travel and accommodation expenses for an employee to replace you. This includes if you face disablement for a period of at least 72 hours, or if there is a death, injury, or illness of an immediate relative or business associate.
  • You are also protected if your business money is lost or stolen while you are carrying it on your person or if it is taken from a locked safety deposit box.

Volcanic Ash Cover 

Why do I need Volcanic Ash cover?


Delays and cancellations to flights caused by volcanic ash clouds are more common than you think, with the most memorable incidents being back in 2010 and 2011 when European airspace was closed. 


To help protect against future incidents we offer two additional cover options to protect your travel plans against these unforeseen occurrences. 


Please beware that no claims arising as a result of volcanic ash are eligible on our travel policies without additional cover. 


On our Silver and Gold policies we offer - Volcanic Ash cover – to cover you for Missed Departure, Travel Delay and Abandonment if your travel is affected by a volcanic ash cloud. 


On our Gold policies we also offer - Emergency Travel Upgrade – to cover you up to £1,400 if you are prevented from returning home due to an unforeseen reason – including volcanic ash cloud, strikes or major weather disruption.

 

In the event of unforeseen circumstances preventing your return home as pre-booked (for at least 24 hours from the booked return journey) the Emergency Travel Upgrade provides the following cover:

 

  • Up to £1,500 for alternative emergency reasonable accommodation costs (on a bed and breakfast basis only and for a maximum of £100 per night or equivalent in other currency). 
  • Alternative emergency reasonable transport expenses incurred by the individual to make arrangements outside of the original plans to get the individual home (car hire is limited to £150 per 100km and train, bus, ferry or alternative flights are limited to economy basis only). 
  • The total payable for all insured persons under this policy is £4,000.

What is not covered?

 

  • The first £60 of each claim, per person (unless the individual has paid the additional premium to waive all Excesses).
  • Any expenses that the individual can recover from any tour operator, airline, hotel or other provider of services.
  • Any expenses which the individual would normally have to pay during the trip.
  • Any claim resulting from the individual travelling against the advice of the appropriate national or local authority.
  • Any claim for costs which are not reasonable or not an emergency to get the individual home.
  • Anything listed in "Exclusions Applicable to the Whole Policy", in the policy wording.

Zero Excess

Why would I want to add zero excess to my policy?

If you’d prefer not to have to pay an excess for a claim, add zero excess and the policy excess will be removed in the event of you having to make a claim.


There is an excess under most sections of the policy. This is applied per person, per claim. A family of four cancelling a holiday will be deducted four excesses. Buying zero excess cover means that no excess will be deducted in the event of a claim.

Winter Sports

If you’re planning on taking part in any winter sports on your trip, you’ll need extra cover to insure you whilst you’re participating in winter sports activities

 

Winter Sports cover gives you protection whilst you’re skiing or snowboarding – including emergency medical expenses cover if you suffer an injury, giving you cover for your skiing or snowboarding equipment (whether it’s owned or hired), piste closure cover and more.

Sports and Activities 

Before you travel it’s important that you check that you’re covered for all the sports and activities you have planned. We include cover for over 150 sports and activities as standard on all our policies.
